Discover the Morteau Val
The Val de Morteau borders the Doubs, a pleasant river, sometimes calm and lazy in the meanders of the morgue, the lake of Chaillexon or the Doubs Basin, sometimes breaking in the rapids before the jump of the Doubs, a waterfall of 27 meters, is listed as the main national site. These landscapes are characterized by human-sized reliefs, and green everywhere, from the tender greens of the meadows or the tender leaves of the beech trees in spring, to the dark greens of the large forests of fir and spruce.
Morteau is the starting point for many hikes in the valley, with hiking and mountain bike trails in the summer, and Nordic and alpine skiing and snowshoeing trails in the winter.
From green to white, without forgetting its beautiful waterfall, Morteau offers you a whole palette of colors and, thanks to its gourmet specialties, including the famous Morteau sausage celebrated every August, it also offers a variety of flavors.
