ZigZag offers canyoning adventures for children and adults, with options for those who are completely new to the sport and also for experienced canyoneers in search of new thrills in the French Alps.

Canyoning is an adventure activity for all ages and absolutely no previous experience is necessary. It's a great way to get outdoors and into a totally refreshing new environment.

The water slides and pools of the spectacular "Little La Balme" canyon offer a child-friendly natural playground suitable for adults and children from 8 years of age.  

A hugely fun canyon ideal for adventurous novices, "La Balme" offers a great selection of waterfalls, natural water slides and swimming holes.  Easy and accessible, it offers a fabulous introduction to canyoning.

For experienced canyoneers, ZigZag can also take you further afield to enjoy more challenging terrain such as the Nyon, Giffre and Angon canyons.

White water rafting on the Giffre river in Samoens is a must-do summer activity for the whole family.  Suitable for children from 7 years of age, rafting is a memorable family adventure, whatever the weather.

Our boats are never overloaded, so you’re sure to enjoy quality white water sensations. With just 4-8 pers per boat, you’ll feel the difference and get more bang for your buck.

You'll don a nice dry wetsuit, then your certified rafting Guide will start with a safety briefing and introduction to white water rafting basics, from how to stay in the boat to proper paddling technique.  Then, it’s time to take on the rapids - and to get wet!

Rafting in Samoens from 35€ per person.

The Via Ferrata du Mont, located between Samoens and Sixt, is family-friendly and accessible for adults and children from 12 years of age. No experience is necessary, but participants must be at least 140cm tall in order to be able to reach certain elements and complete the itinerary safely.  

Via Ferrata is like “assisted” rock climbing and allows novice climbers to scale to immense heights in total safety. It’ll be sure to get your heart pumping!

Using fixed ladders, cables and rope bridges, you’ll be guided up and along a set route by your Guide, who’ll help manage your fears and build confidence along the way.  ZigZag Guides recommend this Via Ferrata route for beginners.

With helmets, harnesses and a cable always connecting you to the rocks, you’ll have the confidence and ability to reach terrain that would otherwise be left to experienced climbers. A fantastic challenge and great day out for the whole family.

Experience Samoens from an entirely new angle, secured safely in tandem with your own professional pilot.

Paragliding (known in French as parapenting), is a huge adventure for adults and children from 4 years of age.  

No previous experience is necessary; your pilot speaks English and will take care of it all while you sit back and enjoy spectacular alpine scenery, floating above Samoens village.  With magnificent views in all directions, you’ll be on a high for days afterwards.  Paragliding in Samoens is unforgettable.

Rest assured, there’s no jumping from a cliff involved (phew!). To take off, you'll jog down a gently sloping alpine pasture until your feet are no longer touching the ground. The experience is adrenaline-filled yet relaxing, at the same time!

Anybody from 4 years of age can tandem paraglide, with no experience necessary at all. We recommend wearing a windproof jacket and enclosed shoes that won’t fall off.  Your pilot will film you during your flight, with a set of high definition videos of you in flight available to share as a souvenir of your flight.
